≠ Junkies Stole Our Shit – Fundraiser Gig - A fine example of prejudice, discrimination, stereotyping and general douche-i-ness. ‘Junkies’ (not heroin addicts, substance users or abusers) seem to be fair game & many ‘forward-thinking’, left-leaning, politically savy & usually intelligent people become narrow-minded generalising bigots when it comes to this particular minority group. As a non-thieving person with a ongoing polysubstance addictions i take offence at such statements. Not so much at the assumptions that indirectly affect me (frustrating, yesd-but easily dismissed), but just at how dumb + hypocritical so many people are… Addiction is a legit medical condition. Most people have one. If discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender & sexual identity/preference is not okay, then why is this?
